Welcome to the Attention Wiki
This wiki is an effort to help develop the discipline of Attention Economics.
What we mean by attention economics is an interdisciplinary approach to
understanding the effects of information abundance in the face of
limited attention. In essence, it is the study of how humans deal with
the rapid growth of the amount of information they are exposed to at
different levels of individual, groups, organizations, and society.
Although the word "economics" in "attention
economics" welcomes this long existing and powerful discipline to the
circle of disciplines that study the concept of attention, it does not
mean that the tools of economic analysis will necessarily become the
basis of this nascent discipline or dominate it in any way. Rather, it
simply emphasizes the point that attention needs to be understood and
treated as an important limited resource in our information-rich world.
